There are great trails on the top of Crystal Mountain and a variety of ways to get down,
but it is a tough climb to get up there. The elevation here is 3912 feet, while the summit is 7012.
The gravel road up is is deceptively difficult. The grade is the only problem.
Even at 10 gear inches, I reached my limit about 2/3 of the way to the summit,
so at present I have explored the top only on foot. But sooner or later, I will make the climb on the trike.
For the time being, I use the gondola.
It is definitely an easier way to get there.
There are places up there we will never reach on the trikes.
But there are still navigable trails on the ridge and beyond.
Someday.
