Beautiful weather and PERFECT BUKA CONDITIONS for the Third Annual NFKA-sponsored Conrad Buka Challenge and what a thrill to see 19 bukas flying all at one time prior to the start of competition. Why, I almost fainted with pure pleasure!
Two groups flying round robin 10 flyers in one group, 9 in the other. Every flyer flew 3 points ( top-bottom-top ) against every other flyer in their group, each point counted. This meant that each flyer flew between 24 and 27 pointsand thats before the round robin fly off between the top 3 flyers from each group!

The buka competition lasted 7+ hours which means that we flew our little bunnies off all day with huge grins pasted on our faces just like was intended.
Many big thanks again to Ken Conrad for bringing this great little buka design from Japan to the northwest and for sharing it with NFKA.
and Jeffs entry in the Handcrafted Kite Competition? Was there ever a doubt ( other than if he would wake up in time to enter it )? His indian beauty took first place in Traditional Design.
What an absolutely great day Thursday was!
