Zen Flying
Early Tuesday there was little to no wind, so I took my indoor fighter
way out on the beach and did some morning meditation flying way up, over,
out and around.
Philippe and Ludo set up a kitemaking workshop in the tent right at the
fighter demo field. They made a new pattern and spent the morning showing
people how to construct it with mylar and bamboo. The pattern was given
to the World Kite Museum and Kay Beusing wants to use it for the museum
workshop next April.
Around noon a Special Olympics group from Portland was helped to make
and fly sled kites, and they had a great time with thier new kites.
"Look! I'm flying!"
In the afternoon we had a manja fly and everyone who wanted to got a
chance to loose a few kites that Philippe and Ludo brought with them in
thier bottomless kite bags.
The guests got hauled to dinner with the mayor so he could invest the
with the "Keys To The City" though what you could do with a doorknoker
that size is beyond me ;)
I had dinner at the Hsiungs' AGAIN where Basir cooked a mushroom dish
of some sort. Marie Dube' and Barbara were there and Philippe, Ludo and
Sarah stopped by after thier dinner and we all stayed up too late again.
