Buggy Ninnies
Thursday started out with fog on the ground and blowing 10 to 15 mph.
I went down to the tent to see if anyone was around and found Dennis
Stone (Astonecrow), Dan Nydegger and Robin out messing about with their
fighters. After hanging around in the tent for a while I saw a fighter
flying in the ballpark inland where the sun was burning off the fog.
I suggested we head up there to see what was going on.
We found Ed Alden setting up a tournament of sorts. I walked over to
Johnnys' to roust those slug-abeds and tell them where things were
happening. I bowed out of the tourney to go see what Philippe and Ludo
were creating back in the tent on the beach.
About 2:00 the wind was up to about 20 and blowing sand and dust were
making things unpleasant so I decided to take a road trip down to Sunset
Beach on the Oregon side to see what the buggy ninnies were up to.
Dave Lord was messing with his bridleing again, and I got a cold beer
from Morrie. Thanks. There were course cones out and people were making
attempts at knocking them over, but they nearly always missed.
Hmph. Bad aim. New glasses? Those Q-Comps are amazing devices.
Dinner at the AOK barbeque in Ilwaco. Mountains o' potluck. Yummy.
On the drive back I took Philippe out to see the sunset from the North
jetty at the state park but the access gate was locked. Told him that's
why they call it Cape Disapointment.
