Somehow PHP got hurt on Ubuntu and when cron ran sessionsclean, it was core dumping.  I reinstalled all of the php components and it resolved this problem.

     If you are developing PHP code for your website, Ubuntu is the best machine to use as it has the same operating system and version of PHP as the web server.
