Abiding in a domain that transcends conscious perception, dreams provide an objective and meaningful portrayal of our
lives. Rather than simply retelling our past, dreams offer an intimation of a life waiting to be lived, an orientation into this new world, and a way to traverse its waters. In working with dreams, we embark on a journey to discover the wisdom residing in the psyche. The universal themes of redemption, birth, death, love, career, and destiny are clearly expressed in our dreams through the same archetypal images found in the worldís wisdom tales and sacred stories.
Using illustrations from actual dreams and emphasizing their archetypal dimension, Dr. Conforti will discuss ways to understand the images and symbols found in our own dreams. Examples include finding objective meaning and discovering universal images, leading toward the development of a truly spiritual approach to life.

We look to the dream in much the same way we looked to the Wise Ones for a deeper understanding about our life and destiny. We seek a way of listening to psycheís voice as it speaks to us about family, love, career, aging, and perhaps most importantly, of the reality of a creative daimon in our life, calling for recognition and expression.
The ancients, and later C.G. Jung, understood that dreams carry a profound message from the transcendent. Modern approaches to working with dreams tend to overlook their archetypal a priori nature, and attempt to understand these impersonal, archetypal images through the lens of the conscious, subjective mind. Archetypes cannot be muted by conscious intent, but will reveal their true nature when we strive to step into their world, habits, and tendencies.
Dream Patterning, an approach developed by Michael Conforti, builds on the approach to dreams developed by C.G. Jung and Yoram Kaufmann, and the practices found in the Wisdom Traditions. This presentation will focus on the ability to discern the presence and meaning of archetypal patterns in dreams. Participants will learn how to discern the archetypal/objective nature of images and ways to integrate the eternal and profound messages found within our dreams into daily life.
Learning Objectives
Michael Conforti, Ph.D, is a Jungian psychoanalyst, and is a founder and Director of the Assisi Institute. He has been a faculty member at the CG Jung Institute-Boston, and the CG Jung Foundation in New York. He is actively investigating the workings of archetypal fields. Dr. Conforti lectures internationally on Archetypal Pattern Analysis and applies his work to government institutions, business, and the film industry. His publications include: Field, Form and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature & Psyche and Threshold Experiences: The Archetypes of Beginnings.
This program has been approved for 5.5 CEUs by the Washington Chapter National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and Licensed Mental Health Counselors.
