Experiencing the Numinous in Everyday Life: The Daily Quest for a Life of Meaning

Rood photoJung stated in his autobiography, Memories, Dreams, Reflections that the images of the unconscious place a great responsibility on a person. When the numinous comes, in whatever form it appears – through a dream, a synchronicity, the striking appearance of something unexpected – it demands that we pay attention. More still, there is an ethical obligation to bring these experiences into our everyday world, where we can be transformed by the power of the experiences and images, as we bring these to life.

Harnessing the Energy of the Numinous Towards Daily Transformation

Workshop: Saturday, November 15, 2014, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Good Shepherd Center, Room 202
$50 members, $70 nonmembers

Advance registration for workshops is encouraged. You can mail your registration and payment to our office using this registration form or buy tickets in advance at brownpapertickets.com.

This workshop will be experiential and confidential. Come prepared to the workshop with a numinous dream, experience, synchronicity or other manifestation of the “nod of god’s head” and be prepared to discover the ways in which these experiences “want” to be brought into daily life. We will learn how to pursue the quest towards the outer manifestation of the experience and how it may be an imaginative or creative venture or perhaps the pursuit of investigating a life-long mystery. Those who register early will have first priority to work through his or her synchronous event.

Learning Objectives

  1. To gain an understanding of Jung’s idea of the numinous.
  2. To bring examples of numinous experiences into our clinical and personal work.
  3. To explore ways in which bringing numinous experiences into daily life can help to cultivate a creative approach towards developing a life of meaning and to further the individuation process.
