Fergus photoIn Friday evening's presentation, we will explore the relationship between consciousness and the unconscious via image. We will look at what artistic process has to offer psychology and vice versa. Then we will consider the relationship between humans and the natural world paralleled to that of consciousness and the unconscious and what the discipline of psychology has to offer ecology and vice-versa.

In the first part of the presentation, through the lens of alchemical metaphor, we will follow a series of photographs to look at an image-oriented approach to psychology. In the second part, via film and dream with time as a principle metaphor, we will examine some of the problems between evolving consciousness and the earth.
