What We Added--Since 1996
We came in 1996.  Since then, we have expanded sections created by my father and added now ones.
We planted many additional companion shrubs and trees, put in a native garden, dug two ponds, and created a bamboo forest.
I built 65 benches from rhododendron wood and fallen trees.  Like everything else, they had a lifetime and now they are gone.
For a time, we had an herb garden, but most of those plants have now been replaced with azaleas.
With rhododendrons reaching over 25 feet and trees exceeding 100, we developed a set of soft surface interior paths to complement the gravel walkways.
Over the years, we have grown a variety of vegetables. As we get older, it is now mostly tomatoes and garlic.
We have replaced or added berries and several dozen fruit trees.
