Forest at the Orting House

Old growth douglas firs rose fifty feet to the first branch and climbed another hundred after that. This one was 54 inches in diameter at the base in 1999.

This grove of giant cedars and hemlocks withstood both forest fires and logging.

These 150 foot hemlocks by Kapowsin Creek towered above mature neighboring trees.
