| This bench has two major structural components--a cut Roxbury Russet apple tree and a live Blenheim. The large bed is all deciduous, with eight apple trees and 24 azaleas. In winter, the mass of light, frosty sticks contrast with the darker evergreen beds around it. In early spring, bulbs and apple blossoms give a first spash of color, followed by an explosion of azalea blooms. |
