This bench is unlike any of the others so far. Huge chunks of the cedar ripped apart in the storm and I wanted to focus on them. I had several interesting logs, but decided not to use them, except for one to support the back. At first I included arms, but removed them for a simpler look.
The curved log supports a reinforced back. The seat is cradled in cutouts in the broken parts of the tree. The bench faces toward a twelve-foot Deodara Cedar, one of our Christmas trees from a few years ago.
