This is a relatively simple rhododendron bench, with a seat and back suspended between two inverted Vs. Two cross pieces make them As, and provide forward-backward stability. They are joined at the rear to make a triangle, giving left-right stability. The branch at the top of the back is for appearance. |
Joining the two long cross pieces behind the tree also discourages the front yard bench from walking away in the night. I selected rhododendron branches for thickness and curvature to replicate those on the small maple. |
