North Head Lighthouse Trail
Discovery Trail     Cape Disappointment

Olympic Penninsula Rides
North Head Lighthouse is one of two of these beacons within Cape Disappointment State Park.  At two miles apart, they are the two closest working lighthouses in the United States.
It climbs through a lush forest and splits, with one leg heading to Bell's Overlook and the other to the lighthouse.
The trail to the lighthouse was built in 2015.
Several bridges cross wetlands, creeks, and the uneven terrain of North Head.
The top of North Head was clearcut during World War II for spotting Japanese ships, but a few of the old growth spruce trees remain.
The old bunkers are still in place.
The new platform at Bell's Overlook gives you a panoramic view south  from the Oregon headlands to the Long Beach penninsula to the north.
