Hello everyone,
Jimmy L. looks like your advertising worked. Well, I suppose I'll bore you all
with my story. I'm completely ventilator dependent and quadriplegic from a spinal cord
injury. Tufty, I believe that's tetraplegic in your part of the world. I'd like to see
how you do things over there as far as the vent is concerned. You'll just have to tell
me.(I know what you are thinking: "could you please be more vague")
Anyway, I believe some of the subjects were fear of the vent, suctioning, kind of
vent. Luckily, I never had to fear going on a vent eventually. My choices were vent or
death. That's how spinal cord injuries are. I usually suction about four times a day,
but I know others that require more than 20. I use a Puritan-Bennett 2801 vent.
I can't remember who asked about cleaning suction canister, but if it helps, I use
bleach.
Anyone that has questions, feel free to ask.
Eric
