Hi to all of you,
I am a nurse, caregiver for a c2 quad, complete injury, who is vent
dependent 24 hours a day, he uses a trach with a cuff, but the cuff is
only inflated when sats are low and vent adjustment won't raise it. Then
it is 3 cc for no more than 3 hours.
Is there anyone out there who uses the vent 24 hours a day as opposed to
just at night.? I am also interested in talking to someone with a similar
situation, The boy I take care of is paralyzed from above the trach
site, so it is a little sloppy and leaks because of the muscle tone. He
also cannot move his head.
