Rcthamm,

-> So now I am wondering what flying might be like. Does anyone with
-> breathing/ventilator experience have comments to offer? I could, of
-> course use the vent on the plane if the internal batteries last, but
-> wonder if that will be necessary.

I had a friend who used a respirator because of breathing
weakness caused by polio. He flew extensively right up until his death
last year. He and I talked about flying with a vent, and he told me he
had few problems. His main problem was getting transfered into the seat
comfortably (he used a wheelchair).

BTW, airlines are required to allow batteries on board to power
vents. They may argue with you, but stand fast. You have your rights!
Good luck!
