Annette,

-> I have a question...does the cuirass assist in resting the tired
-> muscles used to breathe as the vent does? I have never heard of one
-> until now. Thought I was up on all the ventilation devices. I would
-> think it would make your muscles more fatigued during trying to
-> breathe.

Mine didn't seem to fatigue my breathing muscles when I used to
use one. While breathing with a cuirass, the muscles do very little
because the vacuum inside the cuirass just sucks the chest into
expansion, thus facilitating inhalation. When the vacuum inside is
eliminated, at the end of the inhalation cycle, the chest just "falls"
back down, causing exhalation. I found the secret to using a cuirass is
just learn to relax and don't do anything. Just let the machine "do its
thing." My brother has been using a cuirass for over ten years with good
results.

-> It is good to see that everyone is still around. I was wondering if
-> the list was still going. I hope that everyone had a good holiday.
-> Happy New Year to All!!!!

Me too! This board has been very inactive lately. I'm glad to
see it come alive again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
