Users served: persons with disabilities, physicians, physical,occupational,
and respiratory therapists, social workers, nurses, rehabilitation specialists.

The organization:

Gazette International Networking Institute (G.I.N.I.) was created in 1983
as an umbrella agency to continue the publication of the Rehabilitation
Gazette, an international journal for people with disabilities first
published in 1958. Today G.I.N.I. is a compiler and source of information
and a network of people aimed at reaching, informing,and dignifying
people with disabilities with special emphasis on polio survivors and
individuals living at home on mechanical ventilation. G.I.N.I. also
coordinates periodic, international post-polio and indepentent living
conferences, the most recent of which was June, 1994. The next will be
held in 1997.

Information services:In addition to the Rehabilitation Gazette G.I.N.I.
publishes Polio Network News (1987), a quarterly newsletter, and I.V.U.N. News
(1987), a biannual newsletter for ventilator users. There is no charge
for initial information. The publications are by subscription.
