i have had some problems with scar tissue. when it gets too big and starts to
bleed during cleaning, my wife cuts it out with skin scissors. it bleeds like
mad so my doctor gave her sticks with silver nitrate on the end. she uses these
to stop the bleeding.

this sounds like it hurts but it does not. scar tissue has no nerves. when my
trach stoma was new we had to do this a lot. now we do it once a year.
