I have received an urgent request for a family (actually child) match.
Does anyone know of a child that required a tracheostomy at the age of 7 or
8. It is very important that the child be cognitively intact/functional
and be willing to communicate with a child that is facing having a
tracheostomy in the very near future. I know of children/young adults that
have been trached as infants and teens but none at 7-8 years. In this case
the trach would be capped during the day.

This family does not have internet access. If you know of any child who
would be willing to speak with this child, please obtain parental
permission and forward the contact information via post to me. I will then
fax the information to the pulmonologist/intensivist who is working with
the child. The physician is hoping to establish child to child contact
ASAP.

Thank you for your assistance.
