Hi Charlie...
My name is Annette Hanna. I am 38 yrs of age with post polio syndrome...I
use a power chair for mobility. I have a trach and use a ventilator at
night when I sleep or for napping during the day. I have had the trach for
almost 3 years, when I was rushed to the hospital in April 1994 with
respiratory failure.

I too, have removed the humidifier that is used with my vent due to the fact
that is tends to cause more secretions for me which make sleeping impossible
for me due to the constant need of suctioning. Since I have stopped using
the humidifier..things are much "quieter" at night.

Welcome to the group...these are a great bunch of people..hope you will find
that also.

Annette...
