Dear Annemie,

Funny you should ask. I was just about to ask the group the same thing. I
learned frog breathing (glossopharyngeal breathing) when I first had polio.
I would urge anyone with breathing problems to learn this life saving
practice. When you have a cold, frog breathing allows you the ability to
cough with a much greater force. I can even frog breath in reverse, that is
to suck air out of my lungs. This is useful to help bring up secretions in
my lungs or throat. I use my vent with a Bennett Lipseal at night to sleep
but I often use frog breathing during the day to rest my diaphragm, to
stretch my lungs, or just to take a deep breath. It's also a great
relaxation technique. So, past the word frog breathing is a must!
