Annette,

-> Can you give me some ideas as to how you situate your tubes
-> (circuits) that are hooked from your trach to the vent while you
-> sleep? Often it takes days for me to get the tubes straightened out
-> to sleep comfortably. The tubes come packaged in a circular fashion
-> and stay "kinked" for days.

I know all too well what a pain these new tubes can be! I
fasten mine to the side of my matress with a piece of the old style
trach string (cloth ribbon) and a safety pin. It takes a real
"balancing act" to not only take the tension off the trach and also get
the water trap to hang just right to catch the excess condensation. My
new circuit seems to relax a bit after they have been in place for
awhile because the heat from the humidifier makes them more plyable. I
have also found rinsing them in very hot water also helps them become
less stiff.

-> Also how do you prop the tubes while sleeping? I have a small hand
-> towel that I roll up to help counter act the weight from the tube.
-> This causes less pulling on the trach area.

I also use a small towel to prop mine up.

Good luck!

Blane
