I am not one of your best subjects to reply as I only use a vent at night.
But I couldn't help myself. Quite frankly, the attitude of your colleagues
makes me furious.
I don't know how anyone can say such a thing without being in that position
themselves. In my case, the tracheostomy and the vent is a blessing, I feel
100% better than I did without it. True, I am ambulatory, but that may not
always be the case. Christopher Reeve just got through directing a movie,I
believe it was. I saw a gentleman on tv not long ago who was going to college
and was paralyzed from the chest down. So, life does not have to end because
a machine is breathing for you.
I would imagine it would be surprising the way their attitudes might change
if it were them or one of their loved ones.
