John,
I use a Puritan Bennette Companion 2801 volume ventilator. The
coughing machine was deveoped during the early 50s for polio patients. It
went out of production after the polio epidemic and was not put back into
production until a few years ago. As far as being approved for U. K. use
I don't know. The U. S. F. D. A. tends to take a longer time approving
medical products than similar european organizations. So, it should be
approved.
