Here's My Bio Sketch.
My name is Rick Caseltine, Ricsport, I'm 27 years old. I live
in
Minnesota, about ten minutes away from St. Paul. I'm a C3-4 vent
dependant quadriplegic who was injured in a motocross accident in
July of '86. I can breathe without the vent throughout the day
for about three hours at a time. Then I need to go back on for
an hour or so in between because of fatigue. I have feeling from
the upper chest area on up and have shoulder, neck, and head
movement. I did seven months of Rehab at St. Mary's hospital in
Rochester, Mn.
I finished my senior year of high school at home and then went
on to college. I majored in art and I'm currently using my
skills in this field to paint and sell my work in art shows. I
mostly paint with oils on canvas, although I've used other
mediums before. I like working with oils the best. I paint
landscapes, some wildlife, stillife objects, flowers,
domesticated animals, portraits, pretty much everything just for
experience until I find what I'm best at.
I'm single and live at home in the finished basement apartment
in my parents house. My interests are painting, computers,
computer games and online services such as America Online, my
online address is Ricsport(AT)aol.com and Prodigy, reading Steven
King books, rental movies, some TV programs, and I love summer
time. I like sitting in the sun butmy body temp. usually
doesn't like it. I use a mouthstick to type on the keyboard and
to read with and I paint with the paintbrush in my mouth.
It was hard getting used to but once you
get acquainted with it its no problem. I also drive an electric
wheelchair with my chin and have access to a van so I can get out
once in a while].
