Dear Chris,
I am pleased that you are so interested in helping your mom and sorting
through all of the complex information. I don't know what might be best
for your mom but you have one of the world's best authorities right in
NJ. Why don't you call Dr. John Bach? His phone number is: 201-982-4393.
His address is: University Hospital, B.239, Dept. of Phys. Medical, &
Rehab, 150 Bergen St., Newark, NJ 07103
Oxygen should not be given to polio survivors with respiratory problems
because the brain sends a signal to the breathing muscles to stop
working. I don't believe this is a concern for your mom. There are some
doctors listed in the directory for Fla. One is a pulmonologist: Marcus
J. Dilorenzo, MD, Pulmonary Medicine, 2840 SE 3rd CT. #200, Ocala, FL.
34471 Phone: 904-622-2477. I do not know this physician. One more idea,
Chris you and every vent user should be subscribing to I.V.U.N. NEWS,
Subscription costs: $12.00/yr International Ventilator Users Network is
published in April & October. It is excellent! The newsletter is
dedicated to home mechanical ventilation. Contact: I.V.U.N. News, 4207

of further help. Best of luck Chris
