Thank you for the information on hand held percussers. I am familiar with
percussion as > striking the outside of the part of the body overlying the
lung fields over the with short sharp blows with the fingers or cupped
hands.< as you describe it but have never come across an electrical device
to assist with this in or out of hospital. I am wondering if perhaps this
is an American device which has not crossed the pond yet.
I recently saw on television a piece of equipment which looked not unlike
a flak jacket which the patient wore and which vibrated violently to
loosen secretions. It seemed very effective !!!!!!
I must do a bit more research on this as the cold season approaches.
