Karen, this is a great thing! Not only are these kids getting exposed to *the
disabled and "life support"* but they are seeing that people who have health
problems like this can still have a life! We don't have to be stuck away in
some nursing home; we can enjoy life with the rest of the world.

Several years ago when my daughter was in grade school, studying the
respiratory system, she brought one of my trach tubes and a caricature of me
and how the tube fits in my trachea into her class. Today I would have gone
in, too, so that the kids could have seen how I can still be active and talk
even though I am trached. Back then I was too shy to do that. God! I've come
a long way since then!
