Hello Annette,
I can relate, I have had a trach since 1984 which is 13 years and I
still get a bit anxious when ever I go out. I believe that a little
anxiety is good, it stops you from getting complasiant and not taking
all the equipment just in case. I have a back-pack with am ambu bag,
suction catheters, sterile water, an extra vent circuit in it. I also
have a second pack with a portable suction machine in it. I do not leave
the house unless I have both back packs on the back of my chariotte! Of
coarse I am never alone because I am on the vent 24 hours a day
Take Care
Mark
