The relationship between cellular phone use, in close proximity to
ventilators and monitors, and malfunction of those devices has been clearly
established. ALL of the hospitals in our area forbid their use near any of
their critical care units. Childrne's Memorial actually did a research
study confirming the relationship between vent/equipment
malfunction/reprogramming and cellular phones.
And, speaking from personal experiance, our neighbors cell phone and a
nurse's cellular phone have been identified as the most likely culprits in
the "deprogramming" of Kristen's ventilator and CR Monitor.
