Guys,
It is considered very unethical for a nurse to have sex with her
clients. People in the mental health field that do this lose their licenses.
I know that there is a big difference in the relationship of the caregiver
of the disabled and and mental health professionals and their clie
nts.
Some people really take advantage of people with disabilities. I knew
of a female with MS whose male caregiver stole from her. She put up with it,
because he was an outlet for her.
I know of a quadraplegic woman that has been married 3 times. One of
my ex-patients on the vent is living with his nurse girlfriend.
I know a woman who was widowed from a man that had had muscular
dystrophy. She met a guy with a spinal cord injury on the internet that she
went to go visit.
Lots of sex goes on, but you will find very few people willing to
talk about it ,unless it is about other people's. I get proposistioned on
occasion, but I am married. My heart goes out to these guys and I have heard
the Laments of females regarding this subject.
I think it is bad that caregivers would discuss their own sex
lives and then consider the "needs" of the client a taboo subject
Ask Jim Lubin. He seems to have many links from his webpage. I
have read that they were discussing sex and people with disabilities
somewhere on the net.
