Yes, someone has and did. I asked my friend to adapt all of my turtleneck
shirts for my trach three years ago. My neck stays warm and toasty. She
puts a 1-inch button hole in the middle (vertically). I just have to be very
careful when putting it on and especially taking it off. For taking it off
my nurse carefully pulls the shirt collar out and then eases it up to where I
can have the bottom seam of the collar in my teeth. Then I don't have to
worry about it getting caught on the tube when the shirt is actually taken
off. To put on, it's a lot the same except the nurse grabs the seam on the
bottom and pulls it OUT and down making sure not to bump the tube. It's been
working fine for me and I have a sensitive stoma--due to granulation, bad
ENT, etc.
