I have used the LP series of vents for fifteen years and I have
always liked them. I now have both a PLV 100 (on my chair) and an LP 6+
(at my bedside), so I think I can accurately compare them.
The first notable difference is size and weight. The LP 6 is a
little bit bigger and weighs more than a PLV 100. As far as sound, the
LP 6 makes more sound than the quieter PLV 100. The PLV 100 has digital
displays for the settings, the LP 6 doesn't. The alarms are much
different. Whereas the PLV 100 has a high-pitched continuous tone, the
LP 6 has a intermittant "beeping" sound. One good feature of the LP 6 is
the controls are together in a central "control panel" covered by a flip
open door, whereas the controls of the PLV 100 are all out in the open,
making them more vulnerable to bumping out of adjustment. I like this
feature! Hope this helps!
Happy solstice!
