I use LP 6+ and PLV 100 by trach, and even though I don't use a
mouth setup, I presume sterilization techniques are the same for both.
I clean and sterilize my circuit everyday. I have two complete
circuits, one in use and the other being cleaned. I (or more accurately,
my attendant) first changes my circuit in the morning, then cleans it.
He first washes it in dish washing detergent, rinses it completely, then
soaks it in a disinfectant solution (Control III) for twenty minutes,
then rinses it thoroughly, then hangs it up to dry. Since Control III
breaks down natural rubber parts (flex tubes, etc.) he disinfects them in
a vinegar and water solution.
I change my Cascade everyday along with the rest of the circuit.
I change the nose about once every other week. My filters get changed
once a month. On my wheelchair vent, they get changed more often since I
take it out on the streets. Hope this helps!
