Nice to meet you. My name is Annette Hanna. I am 38 years old and have a
permanent trach and use a vent at night due to post polio syndrome. I use
a power chair for mobility.
I have a PCA to do housework...and my significant other, Jim assists me
with my trach care, and knows alot more about my vent than the hospital
staff at the local hospital do. My vent supplier is amazed at his expertise.
Anyway..I would like to know more about you..vent stuff, hobbies, etc.
The vent group as been a wealth of information to use all, but more
importantly, helped each of us deal with the fact that we are not alone
regarding having a trach, and vent. I know that when I first got my trach,
with the exception of a friend who had MD, I felt like I was the only one
with a plastic tube in my throat. But with friendships with a few people
on this list..(and you know who you are!)..I have learned to deal with the
situation and become motivated with life again.
