Hi All,

I am 58 years old and have a permanent trac resulting from having polio
in 1952. I also have several allergies that do not help the situation.
The doctors talked about laser surgery, but I convinced them I didn't
believe it would do any good in the long run. I will probably get worse
and by having the surgery the change of choking would be a lot more..
The opening in my throat is over half way closed.

> >"how often do you other vent users have your tube changed"mine is
only changed every ten weeks.

I change mine twice a week and do it myself. My husband has to tie the
twill I use, because I didn't like the velcro bands that they have. I am
fortunate in that I am not on a vent at all.

I do have a problem with scar tissue growing around the opening and have
to have it taken off about every three months. I sure wish I could find
a solution to that problem.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful year ahead...
