I have just subscribed to the mailing list and would like to introduce
myself. I am a 29-year old quad, ventilator-dependant since 1985 and
living at home with my parents since 11/96. I received a lower brain
stem injury in a car accident at age 17. I have enjoyed reading your
various writings and look forward to hearing from many of you. I have a
Bivona Foam Cuff and use a Bear-3 bedside vent and a PB2800 on my
wheelchair. I am in the process of purchasing another portable vent
since my 2800 needs to revert to backup status due to having many hours
of use. I have tried to buy the PB2801 since I prefer what I have and
it is truly a workhorse, but I find Puritan Bennett does not sell this
one in the US any more. I am having to choose between the Bear33,
PLV-102, and LP10. This is a hard decision since I have been so
satisfied with the PB2800. But, so much for that.
It is good to read of others in my situation and I look forward to
informative times and tips.
