Hi Folks,

Wise shopping for medical treatment.

In recent times one subject has caused me to roll on the floor
with laughter and that can be summarized by a recent AP article
that stated "... Medical costs will be driven down as the elderly
become more prudent purchasers of health care, they, members of
our congress, argue." Others of note are supporting this idea
for everyone.
A doctor has spent many years, learning his/her trade and when
he/she diagnosis our ailments and tells us what the treatment
will be how many of us will know anything about the diagnosis or
the recommended treatment? I'm going to be a prudent shopper?
Please my sides are sore from all my laughing.
Overcharging is another one of those subjects that tickle my
funny bone. I'm deathly ill, in intensive care, Doctors and
hospitals are padding my bill, and when I get my bill I'm
supposed to know when, and how, that happened. What a great
joke.
It's silly that many people are using the argument that we're
spending too much money on medical treatment simply because
people are not wise shoppers. One cannot shop for medical
treatment like one might for a toaster, or a screwdriver.
There is a way that cost could be controlled and every
American would receive excellent medical care. That is within a
universal single-payer health care (Canadian Style) system.
