Henter-Joyce, Inc., a St. Petersburg-based software development company,
will be featured in a segment on the CBS news show 60 Minutes at 7 p.m.

on Sunday, March 29. The segment, entitled, "Mother of Invention," will
show a number of inventions developed to assist people with disabilities.
Henter-Joyce is the developer of JAWS for Windows screen reader software
and MAGic (Magnification in Color) software. The JAWS for Windows product
will be prominently featured in the segment, which will also include an
interview with the company president, Ted Henter.
Henter-Joyce was founded in 1987 by Henter, who began developing the
screen
reader after he was blinded in an automobile accident at the age of 27.
The 60 Minutes film crew, led by veteran reporter Lesley Stahl, came to
St.
Petersburg on January 29 and spent the day at the Henter-Joyce
headquarters. They then traveled to Ocala on January 30 to film Henter
water-skiing. He is a seven-time national champion and one-time world
champion blind water skier.
