My suggestion is to take a serious look at a Storm Series Ranger
X by Invacare. That's what I have, and it accomodates my vent and
battery quite nicely. I have a recliner model. Even though mine is an
adult size, I'm quite sure Invacare makes a comparable model chair in a
junior adult size. I've seen a couple around.
I know all too well what a pain in the butt it is to have the
vent mounted on a rack in the back. I had my vent mounted on one of
those ridiculous vent racks made by LaBac for a couple of months. What a
pain!
The system I now have for mounting my vent is very good. My vent
is fitted in a rack that fits nicely under the seat. The Ranger X by
Invacare has just enough room under there to accomodate it. Incidently,
my vent is a PLV 100. My other vent, an LP 6, was too big, so I had to
switch. The vent was custom made by my wheelchair vendor and repair
shop. It is pretty simple, being just welded up out of some lightweight
metal. Good luck!
