--Sign-on to letter supporting S. 1976
The CCD Prevention and Rights Task Forces urge your organization to sign on to a letter that will be distributed to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of S. 1976, "The Crime Victims with Disabilities Awareness Act." This legislation would provide funds to include disability as a category in the National Crime Victims Survey and to increase the public's awareness of this issue. We believe the bill can be passed into law this year and that it will open the door to allow the CCD to pass legislation to prevent violence against individuals with disabilities and to provide services for those who are victims.
Please contact Glen Sutcliffe (govrels(AT)primanet.com) before May 29, 1998 with your sign on.
