The introduction of MiCASA started us on the road to a National Attendant
Services Bill that will be passed by the work of grassroots advocates
like yourselves. A lot has been accomplished but there is still much
work to do!
On June 24th the 1st anniversary of the introduction of MiCASA we are
asking you to phone, fax or e-mail both Speaker Gingrich and Minority
Leader Gephardt with these simple messages:
1) Our community of people with disabilities, family members,
advocates, providers and supporters want the passage of MiCASA in
the next Congressional session!
2) Meet with representatives of ADAPT before September 1st to discuss
the reintroduction of MiCASA and strategies for its passage!
Thank you for your hard work and energy!
The battle continues and we must continue to ORGANIZE! our communities so
that next year we can celebrate the victory of the passage of MiCASA and
we can chant - "OUR PEOPLE ARE FREE"
