I’m surprised everyone isn’t huddled around the fire pit given the temperature was only in the mid 50’s.  What I want to know, are there any beaches in this state that you can have big bonfire parties at night like the old Annette Funicello Beach Party films or did that all die in the 60’s?  How about beaches where you can have a cocktail or do you have to go to the Mediterranean for that?  If everything is geared towards the Family, what do you do when your kids are grown up and your parents passed away?

     After the sun set, after we ate, there were still people on Alki Beach.  In the summer when it’s warm, the cops come down and kick everyone off after dark.

     Climate change models predict between a .1C and 5C change in temperature in the “high emissions” model.  That’s a disagreement factor of 50x.  They say 2C is the maximum tolerable.  I wonder how many hundred year periods in the past have had less than 2C variations over that period.  I would like to see us get independent of fossil fuels because fossil fuels can’t easy scale to the needs of our modern society and being dependent upon them constrains economic growth.

     I would have thought Letterman too conservative for this.
