Someone (maybe an old girlfriend?) once told me, "If you can't be good, at
least be fast." So this week's newsletter will be fast.

And I really need to start getting these out earlier. Yep. I really need
to
do that. I'll put that on my list right now. Yessiree.

In this issue:

	Quick news items
	Upcoming SotRT events

Subject: Quick news items

Sound bites:

Paul Eddington ("Yes, Minister") died this past weekend of skin
	cancer. He was 68.

Contrary to popular rumour (apparently), comedian Eddie Izzard will
not be the next Doctor. The BBC wants to cast Paul McGann ("Bread") -
interest in Simon Callow has evaporated. Apparently Fox is insisting
on a "British singer turned actor" (either David Bowie or Roger
Daltry). Sylvester McCoy is still planned to appear in the
	regeneration scene.

According to "TV Zone", "Red Dwarf" has gotten the okay to use
Daleks and the Tardis in one of the upcoming seventh season episodes.
(Apparently this had been under discussion for some time.)

Local news:

For those who want to know exactly what that costume was I was
wearing on KBTC on Halloween night, well, evidence found in the
pockets indicates it was a band uniform. From the '70s, I suppose.

Next Thursday (November 9nd) at the Varsity, "Festival Hong Kong"
features "Black Panther Warriors" and "The Bare-Footed Kid". But so
what - the following Thursday (November 16) are two fine examples of
	gender-bending, Hong Kong style: "He's a Woman, She's a Man", and
the over-the-top "The East is Red (Swordsman III)". Call 632-3131
	for show times.

Miscellany:

Orycon is happening this weekend in Portland. If you go, you can
attend the Fanthorpe reading (which I will be participating in this
year) and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (where I will be seriously
outclassed). And there will be over a thousand people and many
events having absolutely nothing to do with me. And watch for the
signs announcing the Anglicon video party (Saturday afternoon,
probably). Call 503-659-4534 for more info.

Anyone interested in a Goodies mailing list? You can sign up by
sending a message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.AOL.COM with "subscribe
	GOODIES-L firstname_lastname" in the body.

A "One Foot In The Grave" episode guide available at
	"http://www.webcom.com/~jrice/grave.html".

There's a "Whose Line is it Anyway?" web page at
	"http://id.wing.net/~susang/wliia.html".

"The space in which they found themselves at present
