=-=-=-=-= Society of the Rusting TARDIS Newsletter (#33, 03/11/96) -=-=-=-=-= >>> Items of interest to British media fans and Seattle-area residents, <<< >>> and whatever else I feel like spewing about. You have been warned. <<< =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= Extremely lightweight newsletter this week. This one is more of a meeting announcement than an actual "newsletter". So what else is new? On tap this time: Quick news items A reader requests: TARDIS blueprints, anyone? Upcoming SotRT events =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= Subject: Quick news items Sound bites: Oh to be in England (or not). Here's a programme that sounds oddly familiar. Starting March 5 on ITV, "Married for Life", "a new comedy adapted from an American series, about a hapless shoe salesman, his sex-hungry wife and their difficult children." Local news: March 14 at the Varsity, two films from John Woo: "Hard Boiled", easily one of the best films I've ever seen, and "Bullet in the Head", one of the most brutal (but I mean that in a good way). Go. I insist. Call 632-3131 for details. Miscellany: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= Subject: A reader requests: TARDIS blueprints, anyone? From: AngelaUT@aol.com [I seem to recall that some book or other included blueprints for a TARDIS. Anyone?] I am not a local, but I figured a Tardis group would be able to help me find information on how to build a Life Size Tardis. If you could ask the members in your meetings if they have that information I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much, Angela :o) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= Subject: Upcoming SotRT events Currently planned for the next Rusting Tardis video night (March 11), at Round Table Pizza, 5111 25th Ave. NE (in Seattle): Goodnight Sweetheart: Series 2, episode 9 Fist of Fun: Episode 5 Game On: Episode 2 A Bit of Fry & Laurie Punt & Dennis (sketch comedy by 2/4 of the Mary Whitehouse Experience) Coming soon: "The All New Alexei Sayle Show II" The next social is Tuesday March 19, at the new Zoopa in Mountlake Terrace. They were about six feet tall, and at a rough classification could have been described as mammalian bipeds. Their forelimbs terminated in digital extremities; they possessed primary optical organs; and the respiratory orifice was subdivided. The oral orifice was provided with an articulated mandible at its lower extremity, and to sum up - they bore a striking resemblance to _homo sapiens_. --"Hand of Doom", Robert Lionel Fanthorpe =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= The standard disclaimers apply to everything here except this statement.
