Subject: Quick news items

Sound bites:

The latest season of "Red Dwarf" may air in late autumn in the UK.
Or not. (Regardless, it should be here in plenty of time for
	Anglicon 10.)

In a recent interview, Craig Charles says he is putting together
his own web site. Address to be announced.

Local news:

Director John Woo ("Hard Boiled", "The Killer", "A Better Tomorrow",
"Bullet in the Head", "Broken Arrow", etc.) will be in Seattle July 5
through July 7 for special screenings of six of his films at the
Seattle Art Museum. Included are the director's cut of "Hard Boiled"
and "Bullet in the Head". Tickets to individual films are still
available for $8 each at Scarecrow Video. Call 524-8554 for details.
As Megaton Man would say, "Woo!"

Festival Hong Kong at the Varsity: June 27 - "High Risk" (with Jet
Li) and "Treasure Hunt" (starring Chow Yun Fat). Call 632-3131 for
	details.

Coming up at the Fremont Almost Free Outdoor Cinema: June 29 - "The
Birds", July 6 - "Little Shop of Horrors" (not sure which one).
B.Y.O. seating starting at 7pm, located behind the Red Door Ale
House, 670 N. 34th St. Program starts at dusk. $5 donation. There
are prizes for best costumes and "most original seating".

Miscellany:

AbFab trivia: In a recent interview in "The Advocate", Jennifer
Saunders and Joanna Lumley revealed that Patsy is 56 (_not_ over 72,
as implied once in the series). For other reasons I am not aware of,
this places her birthday on October 5, 1939.

Subject: Rosanne talks about AbFab

[The following is from a Prodigy chat with Rosanne. For those who came in
late, Rosanne had purchased the rights to do an American version of AbFab.]

[Some goob:] I was wondering what is the status of the American version of
Absolutely Fabulous that I heard you were working on?

[Rosanne:] It's pretty much dead. I guess because it was on here and they
feel it's already been seen, and it's also been ripped off here and put on
in
a few different forms. If I do anything with it, it won't be called Ab
Fab.
None of the networks want it, nor do they want it on cable. There is also
a
problem with the subject matter.

[Does anyone else find it difficult to picture Rosanne using the word "nor"
in casual conversation? --jeff]
