Strong Nonprofits -- Strong Communities

From a start in 1990, The Evergreen State Society served until 2004 as a center for civic initiative and a resource for nonprofits through printed publications, Internet postings and websites, conference presentations, discussions and meetings. In 2004, the Society's programs and activities were transferred to Executive Alliance (http://www.exec-alliance.org) and became elements of Executive Alliance's continuing work on behalf of a strong and effective nonprofit sector in Washington state.

During its 14 years of operation, the Society...

Offered opportunities for serious discussion, career development and networking several times each month and co-produced an annual nonprofit leadership conference in Seattle.
Created free publicly available information for people interested in nonprofits through two websites featuring contributions from members and others.

Organized annual observance of Nonprofit Service month in Washington state.
Maintained a free open forum online for announcements about and discussions of nonprofits (see NonprofitNetworking)

Published its overview of Nonprofits in Washington every five years.
