2001-02 Mavs Injuries

5/4 Adrian Griffin did not play in Game 1 of the Sacramento series
    due to back spasms.
5/4 Eduardo Najera suffered a broken right thumb during warmups prior
    to Game 1 of the Sacramento series, but did play in the game.
4/28 Adrian Griffin did not play in Sunday's Dal-Min game due to back
     spasms.
4/21 Dirk Nowitzki tweaked his right ankle at the end of Game
     1 vs Minnesota.
4/17 Steve Nash did not play in the 2nd half of the Phoenix game
     due to a sore back.
4/14 Dirk Nowitzki did not play in the Sacramento, Seattle, 
     Houston, or Portland games due to a sprained left ankle.
4/12 Avery Johnson will not play in the Seattle game due to a 
     bruised left calf. 
4/8 Dirk Nowitzki sprained his left ankle late in the 2nd quarter
    of the Utah game and did not play in the 2nd half.
4/6 Steve Nash did not play in the 2nd half of the San Antonio 
    game due to a stomach virus.
4/6 Adrian Griffin did not play in the San Antonio game due to a
    sprained right ankle.  Griffin injured the ankle during 
    Thursday's Dallas-LA Clippers game.
4/4 Steve Nash missed the past 3 practices due to the flu.  He did
    play in the Clippers game.
3/31 Johnny Newman did not play in the Washington game due to a
     strained right hamstring.
3/29 Johnny Newman suffered a strained right hamstring during the
     1st half of the Boston game and did not play in the 2nd half.
3/29 Adrian Griffin did not play in the Boston or Minnesota games 
     due to a sprained left ankle.
3/26 Adrian Griffin (sprained left ankle) and Wang Zhizhi 
     (sprained left ankle) did not play in the Milwaukee game.
3/26 Dirk Nowitzki did play in the Milwaukee game despite 
     suffering from a bruised elbow.
3/23 Wang Zhizhi left the Memphis game in the 4th quarter with a
     sprained left ankle.  He is listed as day-to-day.
3/23 Johnny Newman did not play in the Memphis or San Antonio 
     games due to a sore Achilles.  He could have played if needed,
     but his been sitting out as a precautionary measure.
3/23 Nick Van Exel suffered a pulled muscle near his ribs prior to
     Thursday's San Antonio game.  He has been playing with the 
     injury.
3/11 Dallas activated Adrian Griffin and placed Evan Eschmeyer on
     IR with a sore left ankle.
3/5 Dallas activated Shawn Bradley and Greg Buckner and placed
    Danny Manning (lower back strain) and Tariq Abdul-Wahad 
    (sore left knee) on IR.
2/21 Dallas placed Shawn Bradley (sore right knee) and Adrian 
     Griffin (back spasms) on IR.
2/19 Dirk Nowitzki played in the Minnesota game despite suffering
     from a cold.
2/16 Dallas activated Evan Eschmeyer and placed Greg Buckner on IR
     with a strained left calf.
2/6 Eduardo Najera (tendinitis left knee) and Greg Buckner
    (strained left calf) did not play in the Indiana and New 
    Jersey games.
2/3 Eduardo Najera (sore left knee) and Donnell Harvey (sprained
    right ankle) did not play in the Lakers game.
2/2 Donnell Harvey suffered a sprained right ankle during Friday's
    practice and will be out for a while.  He will be placed on IR 
    when Greg Buckner is eligible to be activated.
1/31 Eduardo Najera missed the Houston game due to a sore left knee.
1/22 Greg Buckner missed the Houston game with a strained left calf.
1/21 Greg Buckner suffered a strained left calf early in the New
     Jersey game.
1/15 Greg Buckner was limited in the Atlanta game due to leg cramps.
1/14 Dallas activated Donnell Harvey and placed Charlie Bell on IR
     with a sprained right ankle.
1/5 Michael Finley re-strained his left hamstring early in the 4th
    quarter of the San Antonio game and did not return.  It is not 
    known yet how serious the injury is, but he will likely miss a 
    number of games.
1/2 Michael Finley (strained left hamstring) did not play in the 
    Chicago game.  
12/29 Adrian Griffin played limited minutes in the Atlanta game due
      to aggravating his sore back.
12/29 Michael Finley did not play in the Atlanta game due to a
      strained left hamstring.
12/27 Michael Finley left the Chicago game during the 1st quarter
      with a strained left hamstring and did not return.  He is 
      expected to play in the Atlanta game Saturday.
12/27 Evan Eschmeyer suffered a sprained left ankle during the 
      Chicago game and did not return.  He may miss some time, but 
      is hopeful for a quick recovery.
12/26 Adrian Griffin (back spasms) and Shawn Bradley (sprained ankle)
      did not play in the San Antonio, Orlando, or Milwaukee games.
12/22 Dirk Nowitzki played limited minutes (hardly played in the
      2nd half) due to spraining his right ankle.
12/18 Adrian Griffin left the Minnesota game during the 2nd quarter
      with back spasms and did not return.
12/18 Shawn Bradley did not play in the Minnesota, Minnesota, or 
      Cleveland games due to a sprained ankle.
12/15 Dallas activated Donnell Harvey and placed Johnny Newman on IR 
      with left knee tendinitis.
12/11 Dirk Nowitzki left the Portland game in the 2nd quarter after
      aggravating his sprained left ankle and did not return.  
12/11 Michael Finley bumped heads with Derek Anderson at the end of
      the Portland game (22 seconds left), left the game, and received
      3 stiches above his right eye.
12/8 Dirk Nowitzki suffered a strained tendon in his left ankle
     putting on his shoes and missed the Washington game due to the 
     injury.
12/2 Dallas activated Wang Zhizhi and placed Donnell Harvey on IR with 
     bruised ribs.
11/27 Dallas signed Johnny Newman, released Ruben Wolkowyski, and
      placed Greg Buckner on IR with a sore left knee.
11/23 Dallas activated Eduardo Najera and placed Wang Zhizhi on IR
      with right Achilles tendinitis.
11/21 Dirk Nowitzki played in the Charlotte and Seattle games despite 
      suffering from a sinus infection.
11/20 Dallas activated Evan Eschmeyer and placed Omar Cook on IR with 
      tendinitis in his left knee.
11/13 Dallas activated Darrick Martin and placed Eduardo Najera on IR
      with a right knee contusion.
11/10 Greg Buckner (sprained ankle) and Adrian Griffin (back spasms)
      did not play in the Philadelphia or Denver games.
11/9 Michael Finley missed Friday's practice due to a sore right
     shoulder.  He injured the shoulder late in Thursday's Denver 
     game.  He is not expected to miss any game time.
11/8 Donnell Harvey left the Denver game during the 2nd quarter
     with a sprained left wrist.
11/8 Dallas activated Eduardo Najera and placed Evan Eschmeyer on
     IR with a sprained left ankle.
11/6 Greg Buckner (sprained ankle) and Adrian Griffin (birth of
     daughter) did not play in the Charlotte games.
11/4 Dirk Nowitzki (sprained left ankle), Greg Buckner (sprained 
     right ankle) and Adrian Griffin (back spasms) did not play in 
     the Memphis game.
11/2 Dirk Nowitzki suffered a sprained left ankle midway through
     the 1st quarter of the Toronto game and did not return.  It is 
     considered a mild sprain and he is listed as day-to-day.
11/2 Greg Buckner (sprained right ankle) and Adrian Griffin (back
     spasms) did not play in the Toronto or Philadelphia games.
10/30 Greg Buckner aggravated his sprained right ankle during the 1st
      quarter and did not play the rest of the game.
10/30 Adrian Griffin did not play in the Detroit game due to back
      spasms.
10/28 Adrian Griffin is suffering from back spasms.  He injured his
      back during Saturday's practice and is listed as day-to-day.  
      Greg Buckner's right ankle is doing better and he expects to 
      play Tuesday vs Detroit.
10/26 Darrick Martin had the hard cast removed from his right hand
      and replaced with a splint.
10/23 Greg Buckner did not play in the Orlando game due to a sprained 
      right ankle that he suffered in Monday's practice.
10/19 Dirk Nowitzki played in the Clippers game despite suffering
      from a cold.
10/17 Darrick Martin's right hand, which he broke October 2, will remain
      in a cast for 2 more weeks.
10/16 Juwan Howard did not play in the Denver game due to a sore left 
      knee.
10/14 Dirk Nowitzki did not play in the Sacramento game due to a sore 
      left ankle.
10/9 Greg Buckner did not play in the Philadelphia game due to a
     strained tendon in his right foot.
10/9 Greg Buckner suffered a strained tendon in his right foot during 
     Sunday's scrimmage game and is expected to miss tonight's
     pre-season game vs Philadelphia.  The injury is not serious and he 
     should be out only a couple of days.
10/2 Darrick Martin broke the 3rd metacarpal bone in his right hand 
     during the first day of practice and his hand will be in a cast for 
     3 weeks.
7/24 Gary Trent under went knee surgery and is out until September.
6/21 Shawn Bradley underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to
     repair torn cartilage.  His recovery time is expect to take 4 weeks.
